MEET THE TEAM


  MAT VANCE    CEO/CFO   Mat Vance was born and raised in Virginia.  He attended C.D. Hylton HS in Woodbridge, VA, and graduated from Christopher Newport University, earning a BA in English, majoring in interpersonal communications studies.   Mat served over 10 years as both a scout in the U.S. Army and an independent security contractor overseas.  He created Operation Charlie Mike in 2014, when he hiked all 2,185 miles of the Appalachian Trail in 3 ½ months, spanning 14 states from Maine to Georgia, averaging 22 miles a day. He wrote his first book,   The Funny Side of War  , in 2015 and released it on Amazon.  It shows the lighter side of war we don’t often see in movies and other books. He co-authored a second book,  The Fire Within: Shedding Light on Trauma , which offers varying perspectives on military life, war, and trauma.   Mat is currently a Product & Tactical Rep for  Armoured One , a company specializing in the safety of schools by providing Certified Security Film & Glass, Training, And Safety Planning.  He is a proud father and husband residing in Virginia Beach, VA.

  ALEX VANCE    DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & DESIGN   Alex Vance graduated from Old Dominion University in 2010, and has spent the last 7 years working in Marketing, Corporate Communication & Training, and Graphic Design. In her spare time, she writes about relationships, motherhood, or anything she finds humorous,  and has been published on various websites.  Alex recently made the decision to leave her career as a real estate Marketing Associate in order to stay home and raise the baby girl she shares with her husband, Mat. She's excited to bring her design experience to the OCM team!

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & DESIGN

Alex Vance graduated from Old Dominion University in 2010, and has spent the last 7 years working in Marketing, Corporate Communication & Training, and Graphic Design. In her spare time, she writes about relationships, motherhood, or anything she finds humorous,  and has been published on various websites.

Alex recently made the decision to leave her career as a real estate Marketing Associate in order to stay home and raise the baby girl she shares with her husband, Mat. She's excited to bring her design experience to the OCM team!

GRANT ROGERS

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY RELATIONS & DEVELOPMENT

Born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana, Grant Rogers grew up playing baseball, hunting, fishing and volunteering his time at his church and other community projects. He joined the Army in 2006 as a reservist and would later join active duty as an intelligence professional.  He has 1 deployment to Iraq and 3 deployments to Afghanistan, one of which was as a Private Intel Contractor.

He is currently in college studying business marketing, has a dog, and enjoys the outdoors. He lives life to the fullest and fully believes that the universe puts people in our lives for a reason.

Grant is also a co-author of The Fire Within: Shedding Light on Trauma. 

 

  PHILLIP TREZZA    DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC MARKETING   Phillip Trezza grew up in Richmond, Virginia and was eighteen when he enlisted in the United States Army in 2004. He served as a combat medic, earning several awards, including the Combat Medical Badge for treating wounded during enemy engagements.  In 2008, Phillip moved back to Richmond, Virginia and transitioned into the Army Reserve. He currently serves in the 7457th Medical Backfill Battalion.  Phillip is also employed by the state of Virginia as the program analyst for the Department of Veteran Services’ Military Medics and Corpsmen Program, which assists medically trained transitioning service members to gain employment in the civilian healthcare field. Born in Big Spring, Texas, Tim attended Oklahoma Christian College briefly before moving to Washington at twenty, and began his career in retail business management. He has over twenty-five years in retail operations and sales management. 

In 2016, he launched the 72 Virginians brand (which includes the signature Rifleskull) to highlight and promote our Founding Fathers, our military, our Bill of Rights, and our first and second Amendments. They are provocative in their approach, but try not to take things too seriously. 

Tim can be described as a gym fanatic and determined to be in the best shape of his life throughout the next ten years. He is Christian, father of four daughters, a stepfather to ANOTHER daughter, and happily married to Mrs. Beautiful, Marissa Edwards.
